i was going to post this as a reply to one of your other messages, but this one seems more appropriate: there have been a few v8 swaps that i have seen, and it would probably make more power and be more reliable of a power plant (than a vg30de(tt) that has been supercharged), and it's even possible that you could get it to fit better. if you are dead set on a supercharger and a 300zx application, then that is really the way to go. that said, in regards to an LT1 or LS1, i think that you would do better with an older domestic v8. i'm no expert on domestic powerplants, but i get a feeling that the ls1 or lt1 are going to be a little bit too large to fit in the Z engine bay. i don't really know about the fitment for sure, but i would suggest you do a lot of research on: (a) the process of engine swapping in general (b) specific dimensions and factors of the 300zx that you will have to deal with (c) domestic powerplants that can take a sc and will fit with relatively (as relative as possible) little custom work.
